It’s been crazy busy at Be You Portraits. I’ve been photographing almost every day and as exhausting as it can be, I love it. I’ll have to keep this post short, as there is an extensive list of to dos that awaits me. The photos are pretty explanatory. Gorgeous senior Ivanna from Mercer Island chose me to be a photographer and camera absolutely loves her. Not to mention the fact that she loves to photograph herself as you can see. My seniors are definitely model status
Hope everyone has a Happy Thursday!
It’s been super crazy busy with senior portraits in full swing. I am so grateful to all my amazing reps, seniors and families for spreading the word about me. I am so blessed to love what I do and work with the amazing people I meet day in and out. I won’t ever take that for granted. In all this hectic work load, the blog has been not as weekly as I would have liked. My apologies, I will try my best to keep up! This post I am going to go short and sweet with some video shares of my sessions. First up is Ruthie Kim’s senior photos from Skyline 2011. Isn’t she just a hottie? The second is my amazing family photo session with McMann family. The benefit of photographing senior photos is that you’ll get a free family photo session with me as well. Now I have to be off to prepare for a wedding shoot, hope you all have a great weekend!
I was going to post about Italy, but right now I’m in the midst of senior portraits in full swing overtime. So I decided Italy should wait and I thought I’d post about my awesome senior guy, Daniel Moorman from Skyline. The fact of the matter is, senior portraits are heavily geared towards girls and I think that guys get left out of a bit. Senior guys, I want you all to know that if you choose me to be your photographer, you’ll have just as spectacular experience as the girls. No flower fields (unless you want them!). I’ll let the photos do the talkin
I loved how well Daniel’s polo shirt photographed. Of course it helps to have a good lookin model too
Daniel’s got many talents and rockin out on the guitar is just one of many.
This electric guitar looks so intense!
It’s an understatement to say Daniel’s photogenic, the camera loves him!
Natural smiles FTW!
He makes it look so easy!
The mustang was photogenic too, don’t you agree?
fiiiiiierce!
This is probably one of my all time favorites
I want to title this photo “Men In Black”
If there was one that could steal the camera time away from Daniel, it was Winston. Winston, totally thought the photos were all about him. He makes a pretty convincing case!
I’ve always wanted to go to Europe. And when you think Europe, of course Paris comes to mind. Such an iconic place for fashion, for food, for lovers and the list goes on. And just couple of months ago, my good friend Diane had asked me “Where do you want to go? We can go anywhere…” I remember without hesitation just saying “Paris…” All of sudden with those words we were planning our trip to Europe. It was the first time in a while that I would actually be traveling without my husband. I’m blessed as he was my biggest fan, knowing how much this trip would mean to me. Paris in itself to a lot of people, including myself is such an enamored ideal. I tried to come down from the high clouds and mentally prepare for the fact that as Americans, we wouldn’t be well received. But I never in a millions years could have imagined the things that were thrown our way. It’s an understatement to say this trip in a lot of ways wasn’t how I pictured it would be. We had a rocky start with our plane having to turn around half way to our destination, hence missing a day in Paris with our night spent at the JFK airport. Than a cab ride to our hotel that broke down once, twice, and about four more times before giving out. Spending our days in Paris without our luggage because it failed to arrive was pretty brutal. And let’s just say we got major arctic chills when it came to the Parisians. Despite all this, I wouldn’t change a thing. Paris was still amazing. The unexpected turns and twists of our trip made it all the more memorable and I’ll have stories to tell a lifetime. And even when the going got tough, I could look over my amazing friend Diane and we could smile and yell together “We’re in Paris!” We learned here that we were made of that American spirit with Jayz lyrics blasting in our ear “Dirt off shoulder, you gotta get that.” And get that we did! In one instance we were admiring the spectacle that is the Notre Dame, the ominous clouds burst open to a downpour of heavy rain. We ran along with the other bystanders like stampede for cover. But like a scene from a tragic movie, the gates of Notre Dame shut us out. That was epic. Diane and I laughed in the rain as we ran with the others for a change of venue. The night at the Moulin Rouge was full of dance fever and lovers full of smiles that I’ll never forget. The Louvre was beyond breath taking in all its glory. And the Eiffel tower was our love. We may have seen it during the day, but we braved to make the night call even if it meant the subways were cut off. Even though we had hardly slept and were running on fumes, when we saw the Eiffel tower light up the night sky, it was everything. At that moment, I realized it’s adventures like this that you experience in life, where you can actually see yourself grow and you transcend beyond tourist status. And on our way back to the hotel, when reality hit that the subways were cut off, we met this cute young couple that came to our rescue. They insisted walking us to our hotel as it would be on their way and they chatted with us about our trip and without us uttering a word about our difficulties, apologized for any cold shoulders we might have gotten as in their words “the French can be quite moody, you know?” It was a shame we forgot to take a picture with these adorable people that helped to end our trip in Paris on such a high note. Shout out to my lovely friend Diane, I’ll forever cherish my growing pains with you in Paris. Next week, look forward to a post on Italy~!
my lovely friend Diane. She makes a night at the airport look good!
First night, we had the Moulin Rouge to look forward to
Last picture I was allowed to take before going in
Next day we were on the search to find the very first Chanel store as I have a special place for CoCo
But we spent quite bit of time at the wrong one before we found the original, featured on the right. Coco’s flat was above the boutique.
we took a bus tour to get our feel for the city
and there it was the Eiffel tower in the daylight
The Notre Dame
Our luggage finally arrived and we were able to start our visit to the Lovure refreshed
Not gonna lie, headed straight to the Mona Lisa.
The sculptures were breathtakingly real…
Coming in 2013 Lovure in Abou Dabi!!

Paris is really a city of love in it’s quieter moments. Found this couple by the Seine river enjoying the sunset. The next morning as we were packing to leave Paris, I found a love note from my husband, wishing me the best on my adventure <3
Absolutely stunning photos! That sounds like one exhilarating trip! I’m glad it turned out well though; that couple at the end sounds so kind! Those black clouds are the scariest clouds I’ve ever seen!! And the photo of the Eiffel Tower at night is cuh-razeee. I’ve never seen it like that before!
Thanks for sharing these!
Erin

I’ve been fortunate to photograph some amazing 2010 high school graduates. But I thought I’d share with you my personal favorite 2010 graduate, my husband. He graduated this year from the University of Washington with a Masters from the school HCDE (Human Centered Design and Engineering). UW has a special place for us, as we met there as undergrads and became college sweethearts, to eventually getting married. My in laws and I attended the June 12th graduation this year to watch him strut his stuff in his cap and gown in the Husky stadium. It was a long day, but all worth celebrating my hero. My husband, Adonis has been attending school, having a full time career and helping me with the business, by making time he didn’t have. I’m always in awe of his strength, patience and knowledge even in toughest of situations. He’s always there, when I need him most. I was excited to celebrate him on his day not just for his academic achievements, but for the amazing man that he is. As routine as graduations can be, it makes me realize how nice it is to have a day to celebrate the accomplishments of the ones you love the most. Congratulations to the all my 2010 seniors and your families who are also beaming at you proudly.
9:30am Adonis almost ready for the HCDE graduation ceremony
Mom Acuario smiling proudly, along with Adnois’ older brother Joel who flew in from L.A. for this occasion

o happy day
Ok, so now we’re heading to Husky Stadium… Which side are we sitting?
Eric, the youngest of the Acuarios, he just graduated last year… although his name came be found in this program. haha
Finding Adonis was no joke, it would have helped if he was wearing Waldo’s red striped sweater
Yes, he got that diploma and of course Dad was proud
Congrats to your husband!! These pictures are awesome and they make me so excited for my own high school graduation (one more year)! You’re outfit is adorable too! I love the your tulle skirt. Lovely post and congrats again!
